4ways is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Deborah Cunningham as the new Medical Director, succeeding Dr. Ben Timmis, who will retire in December after nearly 15 years of outstanding service with the organisation.

Since joining 4ways, Dr. Timmis has been instrumental in guiding the company through a period of remarkable growth and innovation. His expertise and dedication have not only shaped strategic decisions but have also created a culture of excellence within the team. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ben for his significant contributions and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.

In her new role, Professor Cunningham will honour the strong foundation established by Dr. Timmis while driving clinical services to new heights. Her strategic direction and leadership will ensure that our medical team not only adheres to best practices and clinical guidelines but also embraces innovation, further solidifying 4ways’ position as a leading provider in delivering exceptional quality standards and as the trusted partner for the NHS.

Professor Cunningham brings over 30 years of experience as a Consultant Radiologist, specialising in Breast Imaging, and served as the Clinician Lead for the Breast Service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She has played a pivotal role in advancing breast imaging techniques and improving patient care. Her extensive expertise, along with her work on implementing cutting-edge AI programs in collaboration with Imperial College and Google DeepMind, positions her well to lead 4ways with a strong focus on clinical excellence and innovation.

She will be supported by Deputy Medical Directors Dr. Jaswinder Singh and Dr. Vivek Malhotra, who will have increased responsibilities in overseeing clinical excellence and managing our network of experienced UK-based reporters. Additionally, Tammy Murchison joins 4ways as Head of Quality and Clinical Governance, bringing over 20 years of healthcare experience.

Under Professor Cunningham’s leadership, 4ways will continue to bring together clinical expertise and innovative thinking to deliver exceptional, accessible diagnostics. We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, achieving an impressive accuracy rate of 99.9% across 2,500 reports daily.
