Dr Nelson is a respected Consultant Radiologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. He graduated from Queen’s University Belfast Medical School in 1992, undertook surgical training in the Belfast Surgical Training Scheme, followed by completing the Hull and East Yorkshire Radiology Training Scheme in 1996, and becoming a Fellow of the Royal College 2001 with subspeciality training in Radionucleotide Radiology, holding an ARSAC Licence.

For the last 12 years and counting, Dr Nelson has been high contributor and significant member of our 4ways industry leading audit panel. He has a particular interest in GI Radiology including Colorectal Cancer Imaging and Hernia Ultrasound, with extensive expertise in Virtual Colonoscopy (CT Colonography), Contrast Liver Ultrasound and Radioisotope Imaging.

As a self-proclaimed ergophile, following his early retirement in 2023, Dr Nelson has already returned to work at his previous Trust as well as being the Clinical Radiology Lead for 3Fivetwo Group and most recently as the CT and CTC Clinical Lead at 4ways.
