Tips to Tackle Blue Monday Blues

  1. Talk to someone

Studies show that talking to a friend, a professional, even a stranger can positively affect mental health. Check in with your friends, and don’t struggle alone.

  1. Get some fresh air

Fresh air is very helpful for mental health as it can lead to stress reduction, social interaction and physical activity, all of which have a great impact on your health.

  1. Catch up with friends

Group settings are very beneficial to people who struggle with depression and anxiety, as they can create a sense of community, comradery, and help to combat feelings of loneliness. Arrange dinner with friends, or a watch the football together. Doing activities as a group can strongly influence mental health.

  1. Exercise

Physical activity is excellent for improving mental health, producing endorphins which can help to alleviate feelings of anxiety.

  1. Learn Something New

Learning something new can be a great way to positively impact mental health. It can boost self-esteem, improve cognitive function and can help to give a sense of purpose.

Here at 4ways, mental health is a priority. If you’re feeling those January blues, there are lots of resources out there that can help.
