Night Time Urgent Reporting
Urgent access to our consultant radiologists, any time of night.
Our Night Time Urgent (NTU) services includes triage (when necessary) at no extra cost, giving you the confidence that your patients are put on the appropriate pathway as quickly as possible.
4ways offers a Night Time Urgent (NTU) service which runs between 8pm and 8am, 7 days a week, providing you with a flexible pay as you go service that helps you to better manage your resources.
According to the Royal College of Radiologists – Standards for providing a 24-hour diagnostic radiology service – “Clinical Radiology is now so central to the management of so many patients that its delivery can no longer be confined to office hours”.
Engaging with 4ways provides a highly effective out of hours extension to your in-house diagnostics team and an additional resource so your radiology department can continue to deliver the same high-quality service at night as they do during the day.
4ways is one of the only UK providers to offer a free triage and double read for poly-trauma work as well as free follow up and next day consultation. This ensures your staff get the best level of immediate support the moment they need it.
As for our turnaround times (TAT), we report in 30 minutes or less for critical/stroke reporting, and 60 minutes or less for urgent reporting. Our average turnaround time for stroke reporting is 17 minutes, with 77% of studies reported within 20 minutes or less (6).
Like all our services, we audit at a rate of 10% or more for CT and MRI and 2% or more for plain film.
Always on call
In a critical out of hours situation, you need to have confidence that your report is delivered as quickly and effectively as possible.
Communication is a key part of the process. We don’t rely on online portals or live chats, our experienced panel of consultant radiologists are at the end of the phone, guiding your team every step of the way.
You can take comfort that no matter what happens, expert advice and quality reporting is just a phone call away.
“ 4ways provide an excellent out of hours service for CT scanning turning urgent head scan reports around in less than 20 minutes.”

Quality as standard
We audit internally at a higher rate than other UK teleradiology providers and have some of the lowest discrepancy rates in the industry(3).
Reviewing and learning from discrepancies provides evidence of our safety and reporting quality.
Audit underpins everything we do here at 4ways and is our quality assurance guarantee to you.
We understand that it can be hard to sufficiently cover your out of hours reporting without having undesired knock on effects to your day time service.
That’s why we designed our Night Time Urgent service to be flexible to your needs. No minimum volumes or contracts, just quick, high quality reporting as and when you need it.
4ways has been providing flexible support to NHS Trusts and private clients since 2005 and currently supports over 70 NHS Trusts and numerous private companies across c.160 sites.
