We are currently looking for a Application Support and Training Analyst to join the IT team.

The Role

4ways requires a Application Support and Training Analyst to join our busy customer focused IT team. A dynamic and varied role covering all areas of the clinical applications used within the business, from end user support to field engineering, project support, service delivery, clinical systems administration, and training to both internal staff and consultant radiologists. The role requires a broad range of skills and experience covering all areas of software and applications along with excellent communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Operational responsibilities include:

  • 1st line support of Diagnostic Imaging Applications – RIS / PACS / DICOM/ HL7
  • Management of Medical Imaging Systems
  • Liaise with software suppliers and vendors providing end to end customer support
  • Supporting the Clinical Applications Manager and the wider IT team as required
  • Provide clinical training – system usage / workflow processes
  • IT project support



  • Clinical application management
  • Assist in the development and creation of training materials, test scripts, implementation plans and project reporting documentation as appropriate
  • Ensure effective communication to customers and internal staff as required – both written and verbal


Other job related activities:

  • You will be expected to perform additional IT duties within your capability
  • Some out of hours (evenings/weekends) work may be required from time to time to support the 24/7 business operations


Person Specification


  • Degree educated



  • Preferably experience of working in the health sector / NHS
  • Minimum 2 years applications support experience
  • Previous work with diagnostic imaging desired – PACS / RIS / DICOM
  • Customer service experience in a busy service environment
  • Knowledge of Application troubleshooting and administration
  • Ability to communicate IT issues to non-technical people
  • Exposure to and understanding of Information Governance core principles; ISO27001:2013 and IGSoC is desirable
