FAQs
We’re here when you need us, in the meantime here are our top FAQs.
Will the remote reporting radiologists have access to previous scans and other clincally relevant information?
4ways' remote reporting radiologists have access to all of the clinically relevant information that would be available to in house radiologists. All reports are completed making appropriate use of patient referrals and relevant diagnostic images.
Are all the radiologists working for 4ways based in the UK?
Yes, as 4ways is a UK teleradiology provider, all of our radiologists are based in and report in the UK. All of 4ways' radiologists have extensive experience of working within the NHS and are required to have held a substantive post for at least 2 years at consultant level. As such reporting radiologists have an intimate knowledge of the reporting procedures and standards which are commonplace in the NHS.
Will there be connectivity costs or ongoing administration and maintenance costs?
There are no connectivity costs for the 4ways’ basic connectivity. All we require is minimal involvement from your IT department in establishing connection to in-house PACS and RIS. Any equipment which may need to be on site will be installed, maintained and supported by 4ways. Depending on volumes, HL7 costs are often funded by 4ways (except for vendor maintenance IT costs).
Will there be a lengthy set up process before remote radiology reporting can begin?
With your support, connectivity can be set up in a matter of days. A secured VPN Tunnel is established on an HSCN/N3 or SWAN connection between you and 4ways. This allows for DICOMised image transfer with 4ways as your remote radiology reporting hub.
Are there procedures in place to monitor the contract?
Our bespoke KPI software allows constant monitoring of SLA targets and our rigorous audit process ensures exceptional quality. The key account manager will be in regular contact and service reviews throughout the contract will enable a reciprocal approach to getting the most out of 4ways' teleradiology services.
Is there a minimum volume requirement?
There is no minimum volume or usage requirement. Work is simply sent when it is required and the remote reporting connection remains in place free of charge in the interim periods. Having the option to send work to 4ways at any time enables consistent service levels even in times of sudden unforeseen demand on in-house facilities.
Do you provide sub-specialist reporting?
4ways UK based remote reporting radiologists have a broad range of sub-specialist interests. As well as providing remote reporting services for sub-specialist areas, all of our radiologists are available for multi-disciplinary team meetings if required.
Do we know who will be reporting our activity?
All 4ways reporting radiologists are GMC registered, hold FRCR and have extensive experience of reporting within the NHS. For Routine Elective activity, 4ways provides CVs of a proposed panel of radiologists for Trust review and approval. Our Night Time Urgent service is provided on a rotational basis by a specific panel of radiologists. CVs are shared with the Trust prior to commencement of the service.
How can you assure us of a quality service?
We are accredited to QSI (ISAS), ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and are registered with the CQC. We have stringent criteria that radiologists reporting for 4ways must meet and we monitor their performance on an ongoing basis including auditing 10% of cross sectional activity and 2% of plain film and sharing results transparently with our clients.
