We are currently looking for a IT Support Engineer to join the IT team.

The Role

IT Support Engineer required to join a busy customer-focused IT team within a 24/7 healthcare provider.

IT Support Engineer required to join a busy customer focused small IT team within a 24/7 Healthcare Provider. Previous experience of Healthcare is beneficial but not essential. A dynamic and varied role covering all areas of the IT portfolio from end user support to field engineering, Project Support, Service Delivery and Systems Administration. The role requires a broad range of IT skills & experience covering all areas of Hardware, Software, Networking and Applications along with excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude. Key Responsibilities

Provide 1st line onsite, remote and field support for the following services:

  • Hardware – Servers, SAN, NAS, Desktops, Laptops, Printers
  • Software – MS Operating Systems, VMware, Exchange , MS Office
  • Networking Equipment – Switches, Patching
  • Telephone equipment – inclusive of mobiles / smart phones
  • Active directory, Group Policy Administration and remote desktop
  • Anti-Virus management
  • Diagnostic Imaging Applications – RIS/PACS/DICOM/HL7
  • MS Patch management

Administrative:

  • Asset management of all IT equipment located across geographically diverse locations
  • Management and maintenance of all IT equipment stock levels
  • Access management – User account administration
  • Creating & updating IT Service Desk tickets (requests / Incidents)

Build and Deployment:

  • Build and deploy internal desktops, laptops and servers
  • Build and deploy diagnostic imaging reporting workstations – some travel required
  • Setup of new and replacement equipment internally and remotely as required

Monitoring and Management Reporting:

  • Proactive monitoring of all core systems
  • Respond to event management alerts as required
  • Compile management information statistics for daily reporting
  • Compile and process management information statistics for end of month reporting process

Other job related activities:

  • You will be expected to perform additional IT duties within your capability to support the wider IT provision to the business
  • Some out of hours work will be required from time to time to support the 24/7 business operations

Person Specification

Education:

  • Good standard of formal education
  • Relevant IT qualification(s) – ITIL, MCP, COMP TIA

Experience:

  • Demonstrable customer service experience in a busy IT-orientated service environment
  • Minimum 3 years IT support experience
  • Exposure to ITIL V3 Foundation/Service Operations
  • Demonstrable knowledge of IT troubleshooting and administration
  • Excellent understanding of IT Hardware
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP Networks
  • Exposure to Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Exposure to virtual solutions – VMWare / Hyper-V
  • Good application troubleshooting ability – MS Office etc.
  • Ability to communicate IT issues to non-technical people
  • Exposure to and understanding of Information Security core principles – ISO27001:2013, IGSOC
