Radiology Reporting Clinical Audit - teleradiology services - 4ways diagnostics

Clinical audit is an integral part of 4ways’ service. It underpins everything we do including compliance with industry sector standards and our quality assurance guarantee to you.

learning and improvement

Our clinical audit service maximises the learning potential for our remote reporting radiologists and improves radiology reporting accuracy.

4ways has the largest clinical audit data set with an over 3,000 studies audited every month. Our audit history dates back to 2005.

auditing performance

4ways ensures a random selection of each radiologists work is audited according to their modality and specialism, ensuring a comprehensive selection of competencies and capabilities is audited.

Audits are performed by independent audit groups comprising various sub specialists and reviewed by a Clinical Lead.

routine audit

4ways audits a percentage of all reporting activity, typically at a rate of 10% for CT and MR and 2% for plain film. If you have a different audit requirement we would be happy to discuss this with you.

4ways categorises audit findings in line with the Department of Health 5 point discrepancy scale also reviewing language, transcription, report format and image quality. This service is provided to all users of our reporting services as standard.

We provide a monthly report, and your account manager will review performance with you on a quarterly basis.

"They've got an audit process in place and we get  the information. If we've got any complaints they follow them up and take them seriously."

Jayne Burkitt, Radiology Services Manager -
Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

commercial and specialist audit

We are also happy to provide your organisation with an independent audit service, auditing your in-house activity and radiologists on a regular or ad-hoc basis. 4ways specialist audit provides a flexible service which can be modality or individual radiologist based, or can be a wider audit depending on your requirements. This may be particularly useful if there is a high discrepancy rate in one particular area, or where you have a new member of staff in your radiology department.

4ways commercial and specialist audit services cover MR, CT, plain film, CTC, nuclear medicine, neuroradiology, PET CT, MSK, breast MRI, mammography, cardiology and ultrasound.

benefits

Your radiologist discrepancy rates can be compared against our large pool of NHS radiologists to provide an accurate reflection of your department’s performance. Clinical audit also provides invaluable data for the radiologist’s education and personal development as well as an opportunity to improve the department’s reporting provision as a whole. The audit data can also be used for revalidation purposes.
